Sermon Snap Shot July 28, 2019

One of the signs of the Beloved Community is that the members “bear one another’s burdens.”
For me, the Church was not that kind of place for many years and in several places. Because of that, I saw the faith as a way to get into heaven, not a way of life for the years I was alive.
I had almost given up on Church, not on Jesus, when I became a part of a faith community that welcomed and nurtured me and gave me a place to belong. When that finally happened, I felt a need and desire to give back to others…to care and serve. Faith-filled friends held onto faith for me during difficult times.
I’ve been blessed to pastor churches which bore each other’s burdens by listening, offering rides, and praying for one another. Now I am part of a church that clearly lives out it’s calling to care for one another. As Christ has loved and cared for us, we are blessed to love and care for one another…and bring each other home.
