Sermon Snap Shot August 26, 2018

But the relationship between God and us, as human beings, doesn’t end there. One of the basic building blocks of our faith is the belief that we have been created to be in relationship with (1) God, (2) one another and (3) all of God’s creation. And since the very beginning, human beings have been endowed with a curiosity to explore all three relationships, and this curiosity has led to discovery after discovery over the centuries by people named Pythagorus, Archimedes, Plato, Galileo, Newton, Curie, Edison, Einstein, Watson and Crick and so on.
Likewise this God-ordained curiosity has led to the development of various disciplines which explore various aspects of these three relationships…
Want to explore our relationship with God? Look to the fields of Philosophy and Theology.
Interested in learning more about our relationship with other human beings? Turn to the experts in Biology, Sociology, Psychology and Anthropology.
Motivated to discover the many other wonders of God’s creation? Give Astronomy, Physics, Chemistry and Geology a try.
The entire human experience is about exploring these three relationships, across and within these fields of study. I believe, based on Scriptures like Psalm 8 and my own experience, that we have been created by God for this purpose: to be people filled and inspired by the wonder of God and the wonders of God’s creation.
From yesterday’s message based on Psalm 8, “Lessons for Life: Be Aware of Wonder”
