Farm Worker Health Kits

Farm Worker Health Kits

We are collecting Farm Worker Health Kits (see list below for details) which will be shared with incoming migrant workers in the coming weeks. Last year we collected 5-6 dozen during Lent. This year WE is shooting for 120 total by Easter Sunday, April 16, still a fraction compared to the 400-500 adults and children that will be arriving during the upcoming picking season. Spread the word!

Health Kit Contents

Throughout the Season of Lent Waters Edge is collecting Health Kits for use with families who will be traveling to our community to harvest crops later this spring. Our goal is to collect at least 120 total to give to boys, girls, women and men. Here are the contents (all of which should fit into a 2 gallon zip-lac bag):

  • Smaller hand or bath towel
  • Washcloth
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Soap (and plastic dish)
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Sunscreen and bugspray
  • Mouthwash*
  • Deodorant *
  • Cologne/per fume*
  • Comb*

Given that most folks only travel with a backpack, smaller sizes are better. These items (*) are more luxury items than not but would be great ly appreciated.

Health Kits will be collected thru Easter Sunday. Please label for AM, AF, B or G.
