Children & Youth

WE’s Children’s Ministry strives to welcome all of God’s children into a safe and fun environment where they may grow in their personal and spiritual faith. Check out all WE has to offer the young ones in your family!

Nursery Overlook (parents and infants) *Located upstairs

Though all children are welcome to stay with their parents, WE offers a private space upstairs for infants and their parents to nurse, be rocked, changed or to play. This area overlooks the sanctuary and has speakers so you may still hear the worship band and message. Feel free to come and go to this space as needed.

Nursery (infants-2 year olds) *Green classroom upstairs

A staffed nursery is in place for infants to age 2. The babies, waddlers and toddlers enjoy worshipping by listening to music, hearing stories about God and learning simple phrases, or verses, like “Jesus loves you” through our interactive magnetic board. The caring nursery workers and volunteers are great at helping little ones through separating from their parents, sharing, and playing with others. Children may be dropped off upon arrival to church.

Pre-K-3 Children’s Church (3 year olds) *Peach classroom upstairs

The 3 year olds have their own classroom where they learn about Jesus and the Bible through music, art activities, movement and play. Taking turns and sharing are some of the many skills our little ones get to practice during this children’s church time. They participate in interactive Bible stories, as well as learn verses and songs each week that teach them how much God loves them and all His people. Children may be dropped of upon arrival to church, or remain in the sanctuary until after Children’s Time. They may then be walked up by the parent to their class.

Pre-K/Kindergarten Children’s Church (4 and 5 year olds) *Blue classroom upstairs

Teachers of our 4 and 5 year olds lead Biblical lessons that help the children to make connections between the Bible and their personal lives. Through scripture readings, short videos, music, art, interactive stories, games and prayers our kids learn all about God’s love and how to share that with others. Children should stay with their parents in the sanctuary until after Children’s Time and then may walk up with the children’s director or children’s church teacher to their class. The 1st Sunday of the month, communion Sunday, children are walked downstairs towards the end of service to partake in communion with their parents.

Elementary Children’s Church (1st-5th grade) *Meets in Youth Room outside

Our 1st-5th graders meet for children’s church each Sunday, with exception of the 1st Sunday of the month (communion Sunday), in the youth building. Children have a great time learning about the Bible and love of God through objective lessons, engaging stories, skits, songs, crafts and activities. Diving a little deeper into the Scriptures, these children are gaining a better understanding of Jesus’ love,  preparing them for a life-long relationship with Him, and growing deeper in their spiritual faith. Children should stay with their parents in the sanctuary until after Children’s Time and then may meet their teacher in the lobby. They will be walked back to the sanctuary at the conclusion of the church service.

Youth Group

WE’s exciting new youth ministry provides opportunities for middle and high school kids to build relationships with one another, while growing in their personal and spiritual faith, and serving in the Beaufort community and beyond. They have had awesome pool parties to kick off the new school year; participated in Walk for Water (a water mission project that supports bringing clean water to developing countries); assisted with different projects during WE’s Be the Church Sunday; and helped set up and run games/activities at our annual Trunk or Treat Event. This youth ministry is all about using their gifts to serve their community and share the love of God, just as Jesus did. They meet at various times depending on the project or need each month. Please contact Jose or Jaime Vergara, our youth leaders, if your child(ren) are interested in participating.

Children’s Library

Additionally, WE offers a children’s library that is rich with books to teach children about our Lord. Books have been graciously donated by church members and friends and we are always accepting donations for more. All are welcome to borrow and return when finished reading. Come check it out!
