Sermon Snap Shot September 17, 2017

Psalm 8 is one of those psalms that celebrates divine majesty – the sheer power and mystery of the One who created all things, even me and you. It is a psalm that we turn to when we have been bowled over by God’s goodness, God’s greatness even…when there is nothing left to do but say…

Praise God from Whom all Blessings Flow!

Can you remember a time when you were moved to doxological praise? Can you remember a time when you have been struck with awe and wonder by the power and majesty of the Creator and all that the Creator has made? Maybe it was…

…the first time you actually saw a sunrise…or a sunset
…that moment when you heard your newborn child utter than first sound, that first cry
…that time when you stood on the top of that mountain and looked across the valley for miles and miles
…that time when you caught the perfect wave…or hit that perfect shot on your favorite golf course…or watched your team complete a 63-yard Hail Mary touchdown to win the game
…when you watched Neil Armstrong take that last step down the ladder
…that time when you saw your child do really adult things – like graduate from school…or have a baby…or accomplish things that you only dreamed of accomplishing
…or that time when you were finally able to admit, “God loves me…I am a child of God.”

From Sunday, September 17 message based on Psalm 8, “A Songbook for All Seasons: For a Season of Praise”
